Instant Heat Conclusion

This is the end of Instant Heat. I do hope you've enjoyed reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it.

Ever had a blind date that didn't turn out as you expected? That's what happens to Alyson when her friends set her up on a date. Who knew it would turn out even better than she thought?

No words were spoken as they moved against each other in a synchronized rhythm that was almost natural for them. Alyson could only gasp as with each thrust Drake seemed to push deeper into her, until it felt as if he was touching her womb. In response she dug her claws into his back and held on, meeting his thrusts as she silently begged for more.

When Drake suddenly pulled out she let out a sharp cry of disappointment. That soon turned into a scream of pleasure as she was unceremoniously flipped over, raised onto her hands and knees and firmly taken from behind. Drake draped his body over her as he gripped her hips, pulling her back to meet his thrusts as a low growl of pleasure rumbled in his chest. This was the way his kind took their females. It was the way she was used to being taken.

“What pack are you from?” he growled softly, never missing a beat as he stroked in and out of her tight body. Alyson could only whimper, the pleasure making her deaf to anything else. Sensing he wasn’t going to get an answer, he reached around and slid a hand between her legs, once again finding the small nub of flesh he had been teasing earlier and began to rub and toy with it steadily. He could feel her body tightening around him, knew that she was close. Only when they had satiated their lust would he be able to get the answers to the questions that were scrolling through his mind.

Allowing all thought to cease, he allowed his other half’s instincts to take over, claiming the young female beneath him in such a manner that he would never be able to let her go. He felt her convulse around him, heard her cry out her pleasure and he slid his hand away to grip her hips as his movements quickened, becoming more forceful. His own release was so close he could almost taste it.

Suddenly he felt her muscles clench down and ripple around him in such a way that it drew his climax from him without warning. He threw his head back and howled out his pleasure, his hips continuing to move against her erratically as he spilled his essence into her. After a few more thrusts he grew still, staying draped over her as they struggled to regain their breath. Finally he pulled free and moved to lie on the bed, drawing her firmly to him. As he cradled her head on his chest he recalled the questions he had and cleared his throat before speaking.

“What pack are you from?” he asked softly, a hand idly stroking the bare damp flesh of her shoulder. He felt her hesitate then a soft sigh escaped her.

“A nameless pack far from here; a pack that I can never return to,” she replied quietly. Though her words were matter of fact Drake could hear the note of hurt in her voice and was immediately intrigued.

“You are an exile? Why?” he asked cautiously. There was such a long silence that he was beginning to wonder if he needed to repeat the question and he was surprised when she finally answered.

“I…refused the claim of a suitor that my parents had picked for me. He was…not to my liking,” she finally replied with a faint grimace. That was a severe understatement. The male had been too rough and she was more than aware of his indiscretions even as he had been courting her. It was only the fact that he was the son of an alpha pair in a rival pack, a pack that hers was seeking to come to a truce with, that kept her parents from seeing the truth.

After she had very firmly denied his attempts to claim her, her parents had promptly exiled her, with strict words of what would happen should she do so. The last she had heard her younger sister had taken her place as his mate and tension between the two packs had only increased. It was a sign that her decision had been the right one, though it still hurt her deeply to be cut off from her family. A wolf without a pack, especially a female, was considered an oddity in their society and was generally shunned outside of casual sexual flings.

Drake was silent, processing her words. There was more to her story than she was saying and he made a note to do some digging. For now he would let it go. The questions were agitating her and as his new mate that was the last thing he wanted. Though the bond had been unexpected it was very much welcome and he tugged her closer, kissing the top of her hair as he felt her relax against him.

“So…what do we do now?” her question caught him off guard and he frowned slightly. Was she afraid that he was going to throw her out?

“What do you mean?” he finally asked. She raised her head slightly to meet his and he could see the fear in the depths of her eyes.

“I mean the bond…it was unexpected. It…doesn’t have to mean anything,” she finally whispered. Drake’s eyes flashed as he tensed.

“Are you saying that you don’t want it to mean anything?” he growled, irritated. He watched her eyes widen as she realized how her words had sounded and quickly shook her head.

“No! I…I want it. I’m so tired of being alone,” she replied softly, her eyes earnest. His expression softened.

“I admit it might be…unconventional, but I’m glad it happened,” he replied equally as quietly.

“So as I said, what do we do? I’m sure your pack won’t exactly be too thrilled about this,” she prodded. He tugged her closer as he fixed his gaze on hers and she could see the wolf within peering out at her as he spoke.

“It doesn’t matter if they are or not. I am the leader and if they have a problem with it they can leave,” he said firmly.

“Though I’m sure many will be happy. They’ve been nagging at me about mating and having pups for years now,” he added as a wry smile tugged at his lips. Alyson laughed softly as she snuggled closer to him.

“So…when do I get to see your real residence,” she asked as she began to trace a light pattern on his chest. He growled as he pulled her on top of him, his hands beginning to roam her body again.

“Sometime tomorrow,” he replied before claiming her lips in a kiss again. Alyson allowed her consciousness to slip away as passion began to stir within her again. She would worry about the future tomorrow. Tonight it was all about them, about exploring their bond. Tomorrow they would face the day together, united as lovers and as mates in a bond would span the rest of their lives.

Faere Warrior: Passion's Price Conclusion

Fate and Karma are mere children compared to Fae sense of justice.  Meted out in rations against humans, or anyone that dares to interfere with their master plan, cruelty was first learned at the hand of the Fae by human kind.  The Great agreement was not made to protect humans, but insure their eventual victory.

Chapter 9

Queen Aeswitha stood to announce her final decision.  It had taken 20 minutes of deliberation by the council to come to a unanimous decision.  Twenty minutes in Faery, translated to weeks in the human realm.

“The creature mormo, known as Siann shall be cast in prison, and questioned for any information we may obtain pertaining to Prince Brogann.”  She banged her scepter on the marble tile.

“As to the Guardian of the clan McIntyre, Keegan Alistaire McIntyre, currently at warrior status, shall be administered a half dose of elixir to preserve his life.  If however, he turns to our dark Fae brethren as a result of the poisoning, he shall be hunted and killed with the Spear of Luhn.”  She banged her scepter once more.

“Guards shall be doubled at our prison, and wards shall be increased to hold Prince Brogann.  He remains within bodily.”  She hesitated, choosing not to speak any further information about his condition, then tapped her scepter.

“Finally, the slayer known as Selena Mubarak shall be stripped of the cuffs, which are the cuffs of Nuada, first king to our race, conqueror of the Firbolg. She shall be destroyed by the spear of Luhn, bound by blood runes to Prince Brogann as wife and concubine; as such guilty of treason to the Fae High court.”  She tapped her scepter once more.  “The cuffs shall be brought to Faery, and remain in the treasury until the time when our contract ends.”

“These edicts shall be executed this day.”

The Queen sat in a slump.  It took a lot of her magic to make edicts.  By the power of her title every word she spoke while holding the scepter came to pass.  Leevander stepped forward, kissing his mother’s hand before he saw her laws carried out.

Siann was taken to the lower levels of the prison, those reserved for the lower caste Unseelie.   The guards questioned, extracting every bit of information they could before destroying the miserable wretched creature.  Siann had served Prince Brogann for twelve centuries, before that she had served King Vortigen.

It was uncertain if they could have saved her, but the Seelie had little use for the grotesque castes of Unseelie.  With a perverse pleasure at seeing her torture, the Seelie Fae showed themselves to be no better than their darker brethren.  In many instances they were often more cruel. The guards laughed, watching as the pitiful creature writhed in agony for hours until death finally came.

Leevander’s servant women were tending Keegan when the Queen’s aid arrived.    Their constant touching, bathing, caressing, and kissing; hoping that he would awaken so they could be pleasured by him, was brought to a swift halt. Examining the puncture wounds on his leg, the elder Fae made an incision, knowing that no scar would remain after the administration of the elixir.  Keegan was treated roughly, as a tool that had malfunctioned and could be easily replaced.  It was more expedient to fix the broken one than to replace it, luckily for Keegan.

Leevander carried the half dose of elixir.  It wouldn’t be enough to grant immortality, but the unnatural longevity went along with their service to the Fae.  Keegan’s longevity would just last a little longer than most, but not be granted the immortality that his Uncle Robert had.  Once Lee administered the elixir, Keegan began to stir.  The Fae women continued their caresses and ministrations.

Keegan woke quickly, aware of his arousal and the Fae women by his side.  He was also well aware of the addictive factor to Fae/human sex.  Some never recovered, some chose to stay in Faery as their toys.  The temptation was there;  sex like you’ve never experienced that would literally blow your mind.  Far more powerful than any illicit drug, Fae sex was never meant for humans.

“Get me the fuck out of here! Of all places, why did you bring me here and how much of my life have you stolen now?”  He was furious.

Keegan snapped out of his haze to see Leevander standing, arms crossed staring smugly at him. “What the hell?  What have you done to me you faery wanker?  Get me the fuck out of here! Of all places, why did you bring me here and how much of my life have you stolen now?”  He was furious.

Lee chuckled.  “I saved your arse again.”  He spoke in the ancient Fae tongue to the women and they sulked away.  “Now if you’re ready to get off your lazy arse we’ve work to attend.”

Keegan didn’t even argue, just sat up, raked his fingers through his hair and followed Lee without any argument.  When he translated back to his apartment; nearly four months had passed.  Time in Faery always passed slower than in the human realm.  Leevander had paid his rent, and dropped him from his classes.  Lee sat with Keegan and explained how things were with the momo. It was harder to convince him about Selena.

He froze mid sentence.  The portal had been opened. This time they were ready for the slayer.  He pushed the sword into Keegan’s hand as they transported to the portal beneath the Golden Gate Bridge.   The rocks crumbled away as dozens of imp-like creatures poured from the dark depths.  They barely advanced two before Keegan was upon them, sending them back.

Lee spotted Selena coming around the far side of the bridge.  He motioned the guards who had made themselves invisible to hold her.   Keegan worked in his skilled dance, banishing the Unseelie in a seemingly effortless display.

“Stop!  You’re not helping!  They’ll just come back.”  It was Selena.  Keegan turned towards her, seeing her struggling against the two Fae guards.

“Well, well.  If it isn’t queen of the damned.  Oh, or is that queen Mubarak?  No wait, mistress of the dark.  Or how about  Mistress of Misery? Yeah that one fit’s. We’ll stick with that one, Mistress.” He took two long strides to stand in front of her. “I just want to know one thing.  Why Selena?”  His jaws clenched in anger. He slashed the sword, catching two straggling Unseelie in his peripheral vision.

Selena struggled in the guards grasps.  “I don’t know what you’re talking about.” She stilled, seeing the pain on his face.

“Don’t play coy with me Salena, it’s unbecoming. Sicking that Unseelie creature on me? That was low.”  He wiped the sweat from his brow and flung it to the ground.  His burr thickening as he spoke. “Obviously you aren’t as innocent in matters as you’d want me to believe.  I just want to know one thing.  Did you decide to kill me yourself?  Or did your Master, Prince Brogann order you to do it?”

“What? What are you talking about?  I never tried to kill you.”

“It’s a little late to be tellin’ lies.  He turned and walked away from her a few steps then stopped.  “You know, it’s funny.  I thought I’d found a real treasure in you.  I thought I loved you.  I was obsessed night and day with seeing you again, and when I did you nearly killed me.”  He threw a stone into the bay. “Only to find out ye’re a back stabbing bitch working for the Dark Prince.  That’s rich.  Yeah the jokes on me, now isn’t it?  I hope you enjoyed your little game, ‘cause there won’t be a next time.”

He stormed away, leaving Salena between the guards, letting Lee deal with her.  Lee took the cuffs first, then her Ankh pendant.  Lee spoke the ancient language, breaking her glamour spell.

“Sher en hachth; du bien a’ nalle; nuchthreit  Sher doch im hath neyet, etren dub naucht. ”

Keegan turned back, her glamour stripped.  She was covered in runic tattoos and glyphs.  Slowly her features were fading from beauty to a time ravaged hideous form.   Lee took the spear from the sheath and stabbed her in the heart. Keegan turned away at her screams and kept walking down the shore tossing rocks as the tears flowed unbidden,  a piece of his heart dying with her.

Lee caught up with him some time later with a six pack. “It’s done.”

“Aye”  Keegan accepted one of the beers.  They sat on the rocks staring out over the bay in silence for some time.

“Don’t suppose you’d be amused by older women jokes?”

            “That’d be right.”

When the beers were gone they walked in silence back to the bridge to seal the portal.

                        *                                  *                                  *                                  *

Brogann fell to the floor.  They thought to kill his beloved.  He couldn’t have that, all his plans all the suffering would be for naught.   He blocked out the stabbing pain he felt from their connection.  Every bit of effort he could muster, he projected himself to his faithful servant Slede.  Slede  was a were creature.

“I summon thee my servant Slede.”  Brogann cast his voice into Slede’s head, and Slede instantly transported into the cell. Brogann grabbed Slede, transforming his shape to resemble his own as he took Slede’s appearance. In the few seconds it took to make the transfer, the guard shuffled down the corridor to check on him.  Brogann translated to Salena.

“What’s goin’ on in there?”  The guard shone the torch into the cell.

“Get that fucking light out of my eyes or I’ll pull your arms out.” He turned in his chair, facing the cell wall, not allowing the guard to see his face.

“Show yourself!”  The guard yelled, shoving the torch further into the cell.

“Instantly Slede was on his feet, the irons on his ankles jerking him back inches from reaching the guard.

The guard pulled back in terror.  Brogann was a tricky one, and deceptively calm most of the time. “I’ll bring your food.”  He hastily retreated up the stairs, confident that Brogann was safely restrained.

                        *                                  *                                  *                                  *

As the sword pierced Salena’s side she screamed. Her glamour had been stripped.  They’d taken Keegan from her with lies and a setup.  Her eyes burned with hatred.  Brogann was the only one that had ever cared for her.

In an instant a man was beside her, sending the guards flying.  He pulled the sword from her, simply touching it burned his hands.  Before it clanked to the ground, he translated Salena to his chambers. He stayed with her, nursing her along as long as his strength would allow before returning to his cell.

Slede would have to tend to her needs. The hidden chambers at Petra provided a safe refuge for his bride, for his future queen.

Instant Heat Part 1

                                                        Instant Heat Part 1

Ever had a blind date that didn't turn out as you expected? That's what happens to Alyson when her friends set her up on a date. Who knew it would turn out even better than she thought?

How she let herself get talked into a blind date she didn’t know. Alyson Morrison was picky; too picky according to her friends. After the first date she would always find something wrong with the male and refuse any more dates. Her friends were all happily married, engaged or in serious committed relationships. Therefore it was their duty to make sure she was also similarly happy.

She glanced at her watch for the third time, noting that the minute it turned 7 she was out the door, even though the date was for 7. Right on the dot she looked up to see the waiter leading a tall dark haired man her way. She felt a zap of desire shoot through her as she took note of the broad width of his shoulders and the way his suit clung to his well-toned body. She had to admit, he was a lot better looking than the usual men that were sent her way.

“Miss Morrison? My name is Drake Ashford. I believe that a mutual friend set us up, correct?” he asked when the woman showed no signs of speaking. An elegant brow lifted as he watched her visibly shake her head before raising her eyes to meet his.

“Y-Yes I believe so,” she murmured, her eyes meeting his electric blue ones before glancing away. Drake’s lips tilted up in a small smirk as he took his seat.

“Have you ordered anything to drink?” he asked. Alyson shook her head as she concentrated on not staring at him. Perhaps she should get out and get laid more often.

Drake studied the woman carefully, his senses cataloging everything he saw. He could see why she had been recommended to him. So far she was everything he was looking for and he made a mental note to speak to Danielle about her. Desire stirred to life, invading every inch of his body and he knew that he would have her tonight.

Alyson forced herself not to squirm underneath his gaze. She wanted him. She didn’t care about a second date or a relationship. She wanted him in her bed, tonight. She eyed him closely, realizing by the subtle tension within his frame that he obviously felt the same attraction that she did.

“Do you really want to waste time here when there are more…pleasurable activities we could be engaging in?” he purred, his dark eyes gleaming. Alyson smirked as she leaned back in her chair.

“You aren’t hungry?” she asked in a falsely innocent manner. Drake chuckled, the sound washing over Alyson and across her already heightened nerves.

“Oh I’m hungry all right,” he murmured, his eyes once again devouring every inch of her. He could sense the increase in her heart rate and smell the sweet scent of her desire.

“In that case why don’t we just skip dinner and head straight for dessert?” she whispered. Drake nodded as he stood and offered her his hand.

“Your place…or mine?” he asked. Alyson took his hand, the feeling of his skin brushing against hers

“Drake I don’t care where we go. I just want you inside me as soon as possible,” she stated bluntly. Drake’s lips turned up in a knowing smirk as he led her past the confused waiter and out of the restaurant.

“I know just the place to go.”

Where To Now, Writer Person?

So, my story is over.  Diners at the Memory's End was only going to the half-way mark, and no further.  Why is that?  Because I want you to read the whole thing--after it's editing and published, that's why.  I mean, come on:  did you want it all for free?

To be honest, based upon the hits I've been getting, I wonder if anyone actually read it.  Not that it matters.  That's past, on to the future . . .

The question I have is:  what's next?  I'm up to keep writing every Monday, but what should that be?  I'm happy to have people read me, and I do love my fan, but what could I do to entertain you next?  I was thinking, "Dinosaurs on a Spaceship," but that's been done.

I have an idea--even a plot--but I'm wonder:  should I do it?  Should I spring it on the public?  I guess we'll see in a week, won't we?

I want to thank everyone who popped in to read my story.  I do hope they enjoyed what they read, and that they'll bug the hell out of me to finish and publish that little--well, not so little--gem of a tale.

Catch you next week, and if you have anything you want to say, please leave a comment.

Love Bites episode 7

Hello everyone. We hope you had a great weekend.  Are you ready for  this weeks episdoes? Well here goes!
Nicolai

I get up and walk over to the broken window and look down at the busy city below. The heady odor of the fumes from exhaust, the smell of the street vendors and the nasty people roaming the streets below flood my senses. Why did I choose to live here instead of my mansion in the country? Oh yes, the easy pickings for feeding. I called the maintenance people to repair the window. I am glad I can control human minds; this would have been a hard one to explain. It also helps to have lots of money when you have a temper like mine. Fixing large picture windows in penthouses are not cheap.

Where the hell is Merah and what on earth is she thinking? Does she think just because she rids the world of a few evil beings that makes her less a monster?

Unbelievable. I have existed for almost three hundred years and I let one small human woman get under my skin enough to threaten not only her existence but mine as well. She just doesn't realize what danger she is in. I am not really worried about myself. I have the ability of mind control. I can make anyone, well almost anyone, forget anything they see or hear. I can even give them suggestions, much like a hypnotist. She isn't quite so lucky. In the wrong hands she could die a thousand times over or just wish for true death.
There are people out there that search for us and will do anything in their power to find the more powerful creatures and hunt us down to rid the world of monsters. At least that is their story. Most of the hunters are only in it for the money, fame and glory. In my opinion some of the do gooders are more monsters than most of us are. People tend to be afraid of what they do not understand. Not all supernatural creatures are evil. Most of us are just trying to live our lives with the hands we were dealt. The few truly evil ones make it bad for the rest of us.

After pacing enough that I should have worn a hole in the carpet, I break down and call Reggie.

“Hello Reggie? This is Nicolas Masterson. I am calling to check on your roommate Merah Slavings.”

“Oh? That was rather sudden wasn’t it? I was just concerned about her. She and I had a few business discussions before the tragic mishap. I felt a little responsible for what happened to her, and thought I would check in. I haven’t seen her on the air since her rescue.”

“You can tell me, Reggie.”

“Thank you and now forget that I called. Erase all my calls from your phone and remove me from any of your notes.”

“Good Bye Reggie.”

Why the hell did she go to Italy with this Glenn? How the hell does Giorgio Rossi figure into all of this? They are going to his vineyard for a vacation to help Merah recuperate. Giorgio takes one smell of her he will know I am her maker. She has no idea how much danger she is in. Karma just seems to love biting my ass.

Merah

Giorgio has sent a private jet to pick us up, but we still have to go through the airport. Even though it’s late at night and it isn't real crowded, there still are a lot of people milling about.

The coppery sulfur scent of blood overloads my senses. My hunger burns inside of me. The three bags of blood Glenn gave me before we left his place didn't satiate me as well as he thinks it has. He doesn’t know that I sneak out after he goes to sleep and supplement his gifts with the warm flowing blood from the necks of vicious rapists and possible murderers. Since sex offenders have to register they are easy to find. Once I find them I can easily tell if they are a threat to society. Evil blood seems to have a scent of its own.

Even warmed in the microwave the bags are no substitute for a writhing victim. I have ridden Manhattan of two this week.

Glenn grabs my hand and pulls me closer. “Merah get a grip, you’re growling.”

“Oops Sorry I thought that was just my stomach.” I smiled.

Glenn shrinks back from me and shudders. “I’m sorry, but no matter how fragile and cute you look the fangs and growling is just plain scary!”

I can’t help but giggle as we board the plane. “Are you sure you want to be alone with me in small plane miles up in the sky?”

“Well I am hoping you don’t decide to bite the hand that feeds you.” He smiles back at me as he gestures me to take the window seat.

“I wish we could have done this during the day. Perhaps when we come home we will. The view is amazing.” His eyes twinkle with excitement.

“Can I ask you a few strange questions?” I wring my hands nervously.

“Sure. I may not be able to answer them all but what I can’t we will ask Giorgio.”

“How did you figure out what I am?”

“I told my uncle Giorgio is a vampire.” He looked out the window.

“That doesn’t tell me how you knew I am one.” I stammered.

“Would you like something to drink?” he gets up and walks to the bar in the back of the plane. “It’s a long story.”

“It’s a long flight. Sure, a bottle of water would be nice.”

He hands me the water, opens his and takes a long drink. I gulp as I watch his Adams apple move as he swallows. He smiles nervously as he notices me licking my lips. Maybe he would feel better if I told him it wasn’t his blood I am hungering for this time.

“I was six when my mother passed away. My father traveled a lot on his job and decided I was better off with my mother's family. I lived in Italy with them until I was eighteen and decided to go to America. Uncle Giorgio, my Grandmother’s brother lived with her. He actually raised me. I knew from the first moment I met him he was different, but of course he would never admit to me what he was.
To make a very long story short, when I was about 10 I crashed my bike into a tree, flipped and went rolling down a hill. It left me paralyzed from the neck down. Giorgio was distraught. He hardly ever left my side. He paid for the best medical care. One night I asked him to make me like him. He was startled at first but I told him I would rather die than to never walk or feel from my neck down. He explained all the gruesome details to me but I said anything was better than this. So he did.” Glen stopped and gazed out the window a faraway look in his eyes. “Well he tried.”

“But you are not a vampire. Not like me. I can tell.” I reach over and take his hand in mine. He smiles and shakes his head.

“No to become a vampire you have to die. Giorgio couldn't make himself kill me. But I healed and he was happy that I didn’t die or become like him.” Glen looks at our entwined fingers and squeezes my hand gently; one corner of his lip turns up in a slight smile.

“That is good that you are healed. Giorgio sounds like a very nice man.” Not the egotistical ass Nicolai is. I thought to myself.

“Well after the healing it left me a bit different. Yes Giorgio has a good heart but he is a very bitter man. He harbors grudges. He doesn't tell me much about it though. He says I don’t need to hear his morbid love history.” Glen smiles again as he looks at me.

“So what do you mean by different?” I try to look out the window instead of his sexy brown eyes. Between the sexy eyes and handholding, I am having a hard time concentrating. I need to find blood soon. I should have stayed with Nicolai. Why do I keep thinking about him when this incredible man has done so much for me in such a short time?

“I can feel things. Anything that has to do with the dead, I can feel them.” He swallows hard and looks back at our hands.

“You mean you see dead people?” I chuckle at my bad joke.

“No just feel. I know when a spirit is around.” He shudders. ”Vampires, well I can see you guys.” He smiled, gazing back up at me.

“Why are you helping me Glenn? Why didn't you turn and run as soon as you figured  out what I am?”

“I really don't know. I could feel something. It’s like I could feel the good and confusion in you. If you listen to Giorgio and do as he says everything will be fine. The more I get to know you the more I like you Merah.” He raised our hands up to his lips and lightly kissed them.

“Glenn, I am a monster. We can be nothing more than friends you understand that right?” I pull my hand back. Crap I didn't see this coming. Nicolai says I can’t get involved with a human. At least not until I learn control and other vampire ways and that could take years he told me.

“Merah, I know what you are; I was almost one myself once. I don’t care. I understand that you need to learn to deal with all this, but I am willing to wait.” He looks at me pleadingly.

“Please Merah, just give Giorgio a chance. You don’t have to be a monster. I don’t think I could bear to turn you over to the Agency.” He looked afraid.

“Agency?” From the look in his eyes I don't think I want to be turned over to this agency.

“The Agency of Supernatural Control. We find unclaimed newlings or rogues, loose spirits, any supernatural that is reported and take care of the problem.” Luckily he was saved by the pilot announcing our landing for us to buckle up.

There was a car waiting at the airport for us. The inside of the limo looks like a little sitting area with plush seats and a bar. Glenn declines the alcohol and gets  us each a fancy bottle of artisan spring water. I could use a good glass of wine, actually a shot of whiskey would be better.

The ride to Glenn’s Grandmother’s was very pleasant.

“Wow this is even more beautiful than I expected. All the pictures I’ve ever seen don’t do Italy a bit of justice.”

“I love the way your eyes sparkle when you are excited.” Glenn’s smile is very distracting. Our eyes meet.

“You are so beautiful Merah. I hate the way we met, but I’m so glad that you are in my life now.”

He pulls me close and kisses me. Slowly and timidly at first then more passionate as my lips parted automatically, his tounge exploring. He tasted so good, like Cinnamon candy, sweet and warm. Damn I never saw that one coming. Why did I so eagerly respond? I can’t get involved with anyone right now, especially a human. Of course Glenn would have to be smart sexy, considerate, handsome and such a gentleman. Mr. Perfect shows up on my doorstep and I can’t even consider a relationship with him. Not now. Not ever.

He gazed into my eyes for a few seconds, his deep dark chocolate brown eyes shining with desire.

The car came to a stop. Without a word he steps out as the driver opens my door. I stretch my legs while they get our bags from the trunk. Looking around at my surroundings in awe, I let out a low whistle. Amazing. It looks like a picture in one of those travel magazines. A huge mansion sitting on the hill, sheep and goats in a pasture off to one side of the mansion with a red barn in the back, a small pond in the center with a fountain spouting water like a geyser. On the opposite side are rows and rows of green vines.

“Are those grapes?”

“Yes. This is Uncle Giorgio’s vineyard. Nonna lives in the smaller house back behind the grapes. You will meet her tomorrow. Giorgio thought you would like to rest after the flight and ordeal you have been through.”

He gestures back behind the grapevines. A little house sits among gardens of flowers, herbs, and vegetables. It looks like a Thomas Kincaid painting. I take a deep breath. Ahh, just the scent of assorted flowers and herbs, even the smell of the goats and sheep don’t hit my vampire radar. I am no longer overwhelmed by the smell of blood and the loud sounds of the city pounding in my ears. Just the lovely soothing sounds and scents of nature. Fresh and relaxing.

“Oh man Glenn, I can see why your Uncle is staying here and not in the city.” Why did Nicolai choose to live in the city? I can’t seem to quit having my thoughts stray back to him even in such a beautiful place with such a wonderful man that is clearly falling for me.

“We can stay here Merah. You wouldn't have much trouble finding a job as a journalist, that is if you want to go back to work in the public.”

I look over at him. His face is as serious as the tone in his voice. Darn, we have only known each other a few days and he is already acting like he wants a serious relationship. If I did though not only am I a danger to him, but I am positive Nicolai would kill him.

“Glenn, let’s just do one thing at a time. Let me learn to deal with this new me and then we go from there.” Even in the dark I can see the disappointment on his face.

The driver presses a small button as we enter the house and he announces us. A tall thin man in black dress pants and a nice lavender dress shirt appears.

“Sir Glenn, it is a pleasure to see you again. It has been a long time since you came to visit.” He extends his hand to Glenn, but Glenn hugs him instead.

“Yes Ricco, it has been too long. This is Merah Slavings.”

“Miss Slavings, glad to make your acquaintance.” I guess I expected the butler to be in tails or at least a tux, but the driver was in black jeans and white causal shirt.

“Master Giorgio told me to show you to your rooms so you can freshen up before dinner. He will meet you in the dining room in an hour. If you will need more time let me know and I will let him know.”

“An hour will be fine, is that ok with you Merah?”

I nod as I look around. The place is astonishing. Huge crystal chandeliers everywhere. The entire room looks like a showplace and I am only in the foyer. As Ricco leads us through a grand room that looks as if it’s a ballroom, with very few furnishings just pure elegance, I am just awestruck at the beauty of it all. Where Nicolai’s penthouse is decorated sparsely with tasteful antiques and lots of wood, this place was puree Grandeur. Lots of white, even white carpet. Not what I expected at all. I guess I figured a vampire would decorate all in black and red. Evidently not since neither Nicolai nor Giorgio have much of either color in their Décor. Where Nicola had all the antique wood Giorgio has lots of crystal and leather.

My room is right across from Glenn’s. The view is spectacular. I have a view of the vineyard from window. Odd Nicolai’s interior fits this scenery better and Giorgio's decor looks more like what you would expect in the Manhattan penthouse.

My room is very contemporary and posh. The bed railings sleek and simple almost as if they are made of silver. The bedding is thick plush whit down. The only real color is in the exquisite landscape paintings.

I’m at the mirror struggling with my hair, when I hear a quiet rap at the door. I jump at the sudden interruption of the peace and quiet.

“Hi Glenn, wow you look nice.” He has on black jeans hugging his slender body and a pale yellow shirt that really highlights his rich brown eyes.

His mouth dropped open, his eyes wide in surprise, “You look amazing. I won’t be able to take my eyes off you all evening.”

I glance at my reflection in the mirror, glad I slipped in a few simple dresses. I don’t own many, but had a few for special occasions. Mostly just simple classic cut sheaths. I chose a red one tonight. I think the red looks good with my pale complexion and dark brown, almost black hair. I blush as I buckle up the straps on my red strappy heels; I had brought along to go with the dress. I will definitely need to go shopping. Well maybe not since I haven't worked in over a month.

“Ok I am ready.” I take one last look in the mirror, follow Glenn back to the dining room.

The table is set simply yet, elegantly with milky white dishes and beautiful crystal glasses. A large matching vase full of red roses sits in the center with a candle on each side. Very very pretty.

Ricoo seats me while Glenn takes the seat across from me. I guess Giorgio wants to make a grand entrance. “Sir Glenn will be with you soon.” He says casually as he moves gracefully pouring us each some wine. I could smell the sweet tart fragrance of the fermented fruit as soon as he popped the cork.

“Mmm this is really good wine.” Startled by an unexpected man’s voice I nearly spit the red wine all over the white table cloth.

“Grazie, lovely lady. You must be Merah.” His voice smooth and sultry.

He takes my hand and kisses it lightly then moves around the table with the grace of a dancer to Glenn. Glenn stands as the man softly kisses each cheek and hugs him then takes his seat at the head of the table. The resemblance to Glenn is uncanny. Giorgio is an inch or two shorter than Glenn and skinny, his face more angular and eyes more of an almond color than the rich chocolate of Glenn’s. They could pass as brothers. The odd part is that Glenn looks much older than Giorgio, whom looks barley 19. Of course I know he is much older than that, I am just not sure how old he really is.

“It is a pleasure to be home, Giorgio. Thank you for inviting us.” Glenn takes a sip of his wine. “Uncle, your wine gets better every time I taste it.”

“Si. It is good to have you home also. Of course I serve only the best to my family. I hope you plan to stay for a while.” Giorgio’s sexy accent sends shivers down my spine.

“Yes uncle Giorgio, we plan for a while. At least until Merah is ready to go home. If she decides to go home.” Glenn smiles shyly as he glances at me fidgeting around in his seat.

Almost like magic Ricco appears, pours Giorgio a glass of wine and refills our glasses. A short stocky man comes from the kitchen and serves us each a lovely shrimp cocktail. Dinner is mostly small talk and making arrangements to meet Glenn’s Grandmother, Nonna he calls her, and plan my training. After a nice cup of coffee and some fresh fruit for dessert. We retire to our rooms for the night. Or should I say morning since the sun has risen already. After a hug to Glenn, Giorgio embraces me and kisses my cheek taking a long deep breath. He pushes me back abruptly, his eyes huge almost as if angered.

“You say you have no idea who your maker is? That you never saw or spoke to this person?” He glares at me coldly.

Taken off guard by his sudden change attitude I just slowly shook my head.

“I will not tolerate lies.” He growls.

“Uncle Giorgio! Why are you being so rude to our guest?” Glenn steps in front of me as if I may be in danger.

Giorgio just stares for what seems like a long time but is just a few seconds. Then his countenance suddenly softens.

“Forgive me, I lost my manners. It has been a long day and I am sure you both would like some rest. I will see you both tomorrow.” He gave me a very piercing look as he passed me and disappeared down the hall into a door at the far end.

Okay. Not only is he a vampire but he is skitzo.

Glenn and I go to our rooms. I lean on the window sill and look out. With the sun just rising, the view is spectacular. I’m beginning to think coming here isn’t a good idea. Why would Giorgio question my story about my maker? Can he tell who turned me? The look in his eyes after he smelled me sent shivers through my entire body. This time it wasn’t the feel good kind of shivers. It was more like I better catch the first plane out and get my butt back home and make all nice with Nicolai.
I hope you liked this weeks story. Who do you think Giorgio is and why does Nicolai think she is in so much danger? Leave me a comment and let me know what you think. Tomorrow we will be introducing our new Tryster. So come back and check us out!

Manic Monday

                                                                  LOVE BITES-EPISODE 6

Merah

I watch in awe as Glenn talks to Reggie. The man is magnificent. His words are as smooth as silk and his voice so calming. Not to mention, the man is as hot as heck. I keep my eyes glued to Glenn’s handsome face and unruly brown hair so I am not so tempted to look in the shadows for Nicolai, but I can feel him. Part of me wants to see him, the other part wants to rip his sexy head right off his shoulders. He has to know that Reggie is upset. Why doesn't he just come out and help? I can’t very well say; come out, come out, wherever you are. Then say “oh while you’re here, won’t you brainwash my best friend to let me go live with a stranger?” No, I can’t really do that, and fortunately it looks like I'm not going to have to even bother with Nicolai.

Glenn has Reggie eating out of the palm of his hands. Still not so sure what happened back there, I climb into the passenger side of Glenn’s truck while Reggie and Aaron wave and get into Reggie’s car. Can it be possible that Glenn has the ability that Nicolai has? I am so sure Glenn is Human. He smells like Reggie and Aaron, not like Nicolai. Is it possible some Humans can use mind control?
“Glenn, I need to ask you a silly question?”
“Sure Merah, ask away. I am sure you have lots of questions. I am not sure I will be able to answer them until I call my uncle. First let’s get you to my place and settled in. Tomorrow we will try to get you all the answers you need.” He glanced over at me and smiles timidly. Even in the dark I can see the fear in his eyes, smell it in his blood. I’m not so sure I’ll ever get use to smelling blood like it’s a gourmet dinner, but his really smells good. If he is afraid of me why is he helping me?
“Are you able to control people’s minds?” As soon as I said it I knew I made a mistake. If I didn't know about Vampires or who turned me why would I be thinking about mind control?
“Mind control? Where would you get a silly idea like that?” he chuckled. “I think you’re letting to many vampire stories flood your brain. Pretty much most of that is just that; stories.”
“But we both know vampires are very real. I just wondered how you convinced Reggie to let me come with you, a total stranger, so easily.”
“I am good with people, Merah, and he just wants what is best for you. I can help you more than he can.”
“So you told him you were going to feed me blood and call your vampire uncle to teach me the new ways of the world?” I rolled my eyes though I knew he couldn't see me in the dark. Yet I could see him as clear as if we were in bright sunlight.
“Merah you were standing right there. Didn’t you hear a word I said?” His voice sounded a bit worried.
Uh oh! I hope he doesn’t want to know what I was doing instead of listening to him. I can’t very well say I was hoping my maker would come out and save the day when I have told him I have no clue what happened. I am not a very good liar.
“Yes I heard you. I just still can’t figure out how he gave in so easily. Reggie isn't the easiest to convince.”
He chuckled again. He has a nice laugh. It’s a shame we couldn't have met under better circumstance. I could go for a man like this. No Merah, You wouldn't go for a man like him. He is too nice, too sweet. Face it Chickie you like the intrigue. The proverbial tall, dark, mysterious stranger. A man more like Nicolai. Nope, you'd never look twice at this one under normal circumstance.
“I wasn’t kidding when I told him I had a degree in sociology and I can help you get through the trauma.” He turned into a driveway of a small but nice looking house. “We are home.”
Home. Will I ever feel like I’m at home again? “So why are you working in a lab and not in a fancy psychiatrist office?”
He gets out grabs my bags and ushers me towards the door. “I got tired of school and decided I didn’t want to sit in an office. I like lab work. I like the variety my job offers.”
He set down my bags and fumbled with the lock. “Damn I knew I should replace that bulb.”
“Let me.” I take the key and easily unlock the door. “Looks like being able to see in the dark can be handy.” I reach down and grab the bags like they were feather pillows. Odd he is a pretty strong looking man and he was tugging as if they were heavy. OH I must have super human strength too. Maybe some of this vampire stuff will actually be useful. No one will ever drag me in an Alley again.
I follow him into the kitchen. He opens his lunch box and takes out two plastic bags and pushes them towards me. “Here, this was all I could get tonight. Drink this, get a shower and go to bed. I am sure you are exhausted. I will call my Uncle Giorgio and see what advice he has to offer.” He busies himself unpacking his lunchbox, rinsing it out turning it upside down in the sink and then opening a cupboard. “Want some soup? I have chicken noodle and chicken with rice? I will stop and pick up some things after work tomorrow. I promise to not pull a double.”
We eat our soup and I finally down the blood. I am surprised I didn’t gag. I really wanted more. No. I wanted to sink my teeth in his soft brown neck.
”Where is the shower?” I get up and look around. He picks up the bowls and rinses them and put them into the dishwasher. After drying his hands, he grabs one of my bags, I take the other and follow him.
“The bathroom is just through that door.” He points to a door off to one side of the room.
“Feel free to use the closet and the dresser. Make yourself at home. It’s not much but at least no one will be bothering you.” He turns to walk out.
“Glenn. Thanks. Really I do appreciate all the help, but maybe my staying here isn't a good idea. I can’t promise I won’t try to … “ I hesitate I don’t want to blurt out rip out your throat.
“I know this is all hard to deal with Merah, But I have watched you on the news and I don't think you would mean me any harm. I also think you have great self-control. It will get easier. I am sure Uncle Giorgio will help. Sleep. I will see you when I get home tomorrow. Stay inside. Use the computer. Just don't leave the house. I will call you tomorrow before I come home. I should be here before midnight with some more blood.” He shut the door. I hear another door open and a lock click, and a bolt slide. I hate to tell him I could probably still open the door like it was made of paper. But I will let him at least feel safe, for now.
The room is pretty nice. No pictures or anything, just a bed, a dresser, and a small desk. I open my largest suitcase and smile. Oh Reggie my love, my laptop. The bathroom is a pale cream with yellow towels and yellow rugs. Not bad. The shower feels good. It also feels better having on some of my own clothes and not a hospital gown or the extra scrubs Glen thoughtfully loaned me. Or Nicolai’s shirt. I look through the plastic bag the hospital put my stuff in; why am I looking for his clothes?
I curl up in the bed under the soft down comforter and stare at the ceiling, trying to sort out my feelings. Why did I run out on Nicolai when days before I was wanting so bad to be in his arms?

I wake up thinking it was morning when in fact it is quite dark. Had I slept all day? Is this my new life; sleeping all day and roaming the streets at night? I jump and grab my ears. It sounds like my head is hung in a church bell. I quickly realize it is a phone. Drats. I still don’t have my cell. Is it at Nicolai’s or do the cops have it? Crap. I was supposed to go to the station for my statements today. I grab the phone by the bed. “Hello?”
“Merah. Did I wake you?” It was Glenn.
“No, I got up a little while ago. I was supposed to go to the station today.”
“I took care of that. We will go tomorrow morning early. I am off tomorrow. Do you have a passport or do we need to get one?” He asked nonchalantly.
“Passport? I have one but not sure if it’s any good. I can’t remember when last I used it.”
“I’ll talk to you more when I get home. Do you like Chinese?”
“You want to go to china for food?” I giggled. I just couldn't resist.
He laughed. I could get use to the calming sound of his voice and his jovial laughter. “No but when we get to Italy I will treat you to the best homemade ravioli you ever had.
“Italy?” I sat on the bed in shock. Wow I have always wanted to go to Italy and with a gorgeous guy?
“Yeah, Uncle Giorgio says it is best we come there. He is more familiar with things there and best to keep you out of sight until you adjust. He reserved us a flight and we will leave tomorrow night. Now how about the Chinese? I am starving.”
“Yeah sweet and sour chicken, and fried rice, and an eggroll, if you don't mind.” I realized I was hungry. Odd I figured all I would want is blood. I guess there is still a lot to learn. How can I drink blood without killing? If I have to kill, is it really wrong to kill those that prey on innocent people? Maybe I can kill two birds with one stone. I chuckle at the play on words. I glanced at the empty suitcase on the desk, wishing now I hadn’t already unpacked. I hate packing. I look at the laptop and open it instead. I pull up Google search; Pedophiles. Wow this will be easier than I thought as page after page appeared before me. Wow and some so close. I look at the clock three hours before Glenn gets here. I smile to myself as I jot down an address.

Nicolai

Damn! How did I not notice she wasn’t with her room-mate? I am getting careless with my old-age. I watch Reggie and his friend go into their house but no Merah. Where the hell is she? Surely she didn't leave with the other man. I had researched her for months. She wasn't dating anyone. Well I am hungry and I need to fed its almost morning and I am too tired to hunt. I will talk to Reggie, and feed from him.
“Hello Reggie?” I smile as I capture his gaze. This one is too easy. He opens the door and I look at his roommate. This one I don't like, but he too is easy to read. I feed quickly and find out what little they had to tell me. I decide I can use Reggie to keep tabs on Merah and tell me more of this Glenn Moore. Something just isn't quite right. Why is this stranger so interested in Merah. I don't believe the therapy stuff for one minute. Tomorrow I will have Reggie give Merah a cell phone. Then I can keep track of her with that. I love technology. I tuck Reggie and his boyfriend nicely into bed erase memory of my feeding and make it look like they had been having sex. All Reggie will remember is to come to my office tomorrow afternoon. I look at them all safe and sound. I could just rip off Reggie's head and send it as a message to Merah; to not be screwing with me but I think better of it. This will be much better. I can get him to talk her into whatever I need. Tomorrow he will give her the phone and some more gentle messages. She will see it my way soon and come to me. I lay down in the bed and smile. Yes soon she will be here where she belongs. She will realize we need each other. I fall asleep and dram of a better life a life with a partner, after all these years I will soon no longer be alone.
The next day I find out from Reggie that Merah didn’t go to give a statement to the police and that she is going the next day. I go and give my statements and make it easy for her. They won’t have many questions and will have all the answers already. She better appreciate my skills. I head home quite pleased with myself. I eat my dinner at the police station. It has been a long couple of days. I figured a quick feed from a sweet receptionist wouldn't hurt. She wouldn't remember a thing. I even had the officer she longed for call her for a date. A lay was the least I could do for her since she so willingly let me drink her lifeblood. I take off my shoes and turn on the TV. How do these pretty young women talk about murders and smile? So it is a pedophile but still, slit throats are never pretty to see. Before I realize it I hear glass break as the remote sails out the window. Shit. Merah, what have you done?
