Hello everyone!  Thanks for coming back. If it’s your first time welcome! Today is a bittersweet day! But as they say all good things must come to an end.  This week is the final episodes of this month’s stories, but I am sure you have all been eagerly waiting to see how they all end! We hope you enjoyed them all and check back to see what the Trysters have planned for next month! I’m sure it will be just as exciting!   So, without further ado, here it is the finale of ………..

Dark Magick

Tricks and Treats

Memories of yesterday come rushing back as I awaken to the comfort of a firm, warm body pressed against my back, a strong arm draped over me, long thin fingers splayed across my stomach. Sebastian and I making love. Me waking up to Sebastian serving lunch in bed. Having Sebastian again for dessert, dinner, evening snack, and bedtime. The man is insatiable. I think we have made love more in one day than Josh and I have in the past three years. He gives that sexy wicked chuckle and says ‘Ma’ lady, I told you it’s been centuries,’ in that dreamy odd accent of his.

I always thought Josh was great, but he doesn't hold a candle to Sebastian. Making love with Sebastian is, well no other way to say it but magical. Perhaps it’s his experience of being centuries old, or just being a Mage, but whatever it is, it’s amazing.

The memories alone make me want him again. I turn over and decide to spend some time exploring him. Running my fingers over his small but strong arm, tracing the tattoos wrapped around them like a sleeve, they seem to move with my touch. I could have sworn they were closer and much more of them before yesterday.

His nipples harden tempting me to pinch them softly. His eyes flutter open.

“Good morning Ma’lady.” His voice sounds sleepy, but already deepening with need. So sexy.

“Morning, Magick.” His lips meet mine before any more words can be spoken. Shock waves roll through me like lighting. “Let’s shower together. “I just nod, following him like he’s the pied piper.

He washes my hair, my body, and I wash his. I kneel to soap up his legs, fingers twine in my wet hair pulling my head up. I come face to face with Sebastian’s long slender erection. He thrusts forward, brushing it against my lips. I decide to play his game and tease him with my tongue. His throaty moans are like music to my ears. Suddenly he jerks me up by my hair kisses me harshly, pressing me to the shower wall. He lets my hair loose, grasps the soap and caresses me with suds over my back and shoulders as he makes love to me in the shower.

“Ma’lady, you stay here and wash the soap out of your hair. I’ll go make us breakfast. We need to replenish our energy.” I giggle like a school girl watching him walk out naked as a jaybird admiring his tight backside.

Combing out my hair I notice a mark on the back of my neck. Lifting my hair and twisting to look in the mirror I see tiny swirls and curves, starting at my hairline and moving down my neck. What on earth?

“Sebastian, what is this?” I lift my ponytail so he can see the strange marks.

He gives me the cutest look, like a small kid that’s been caught doing something he shouldn’t.

“I’m sorry Ma’lady. I was hoping you wouldn’t find those.” A hint of color creeps up his dark cheeks.

“It’s a wee bit of me. Something for you to remember me by.”

“You’re planning on leaving me soon, Sebastian?” My words come out sharp as a razor.

Pulling me into his arms, he reassures me with a gentle brush of his lips to my forehead.

“Ma’lady, because your Mat didn't show up last night doesn't mean he just gave up on me. He will return for me.” The way he said my Mat, made me beam. He is jealous of a demon, not Josh? Oh crap! Not only do we have a demon to deal with but, there is also Josh. What do I do? What is this with Sebastian?

The harsh reality set in. Sure Sebastian is a powerful mage, but is he a match for a demon? Will he be whisked out of my life as quickly as he appeared?

“I thought you had a plan to be freed.” Pushing him back, breaking contact so I could think more clearly, I slump into the nearest chair.

“I do, Ma’ love, but dealing with a demon always can backfire. You will just have to trust ME, no matter what happens, what you see or what you hear. Be sure to remember this. I am doing what I do for us.” Sliding my chair back he kneels in front of me taking my hands in his.

“Ma’lady, the day I escaped I had only one thing on my mind and that was freedom. The moment I saw you and felt your kindness, I knew I wanted more. After yesterday, things changed yet again. Falling in love was not in my original plan.” Lifting my hands to his lips, the warm wet heat of them on my skin sends shivers through me confusing me even more. He loves me? Do I love him? What about Josh? Why do I still wonder about Mat?

“What is your plan?” My voice cracks slightly as I try to keep tears out of my eyes. Tell me you love me but will be leaving me forever?

“Please trust me Ma’ love. It is better that I don’t tell you. You should prepare yourself that things will get very ugly. Matanbuchus will use all his charms and powers to break your trust in me. He will tell you horrible lies and make them sound very real. Remember this time we have together and the bond we made. Believe me whenever I say I love you.” He leans forward and kisses me warmly and passionately.

“Maybe he has given up? He didn’t come here the other night or last night, it’s dark now and still no demon.”

“Believe me he will return. I was surprised also that he didn’t come last night.” He leans in kissing me, his hands sliding up my thighs. He grins that grin, the one that turns me into pure mush every time. “I am very glad he didn’t interrupt us.”

I blush.

“If he doesn’t show up tonight, my guess is he isn’t wasting his powers. He is waiting for Samhain.”

“So we have two more days and nights?” My hands roam his body, eliciting soft moans, making me feel like the sexiest woman on earth.

********

The next two days go rather quickly. Whatever spell Josh was under worked really well. He only called once and I called him enough to keep peace. After all, I am still confused. Sebastian could be gone forever in a day or so and I don't want to burn any bridges just yet. Josh and I have a lot of history. I wasn’t real thrilled that this decision was under Sebastian's suggestion after I told him I needed to end things with Josh. I guess he had a valid point.

Sebastian worked on his plan and read the spell book he called my great-grandmothers Grimoiure while I worked. He also had the house clean and dinner ready by time I got home. He got a real kick out of carving jack-o-lanterns and preparing treats for the trick-or-treaters. Josh never got involved with decorating for the holidays with me. I pray with all my might that his plan works.

Just in case I have a plan B. I don’t plan to share with Sebastian.

I was disappointed the first couple of nights that Mat didn’t show up. I thought for sure after our mini-date at the bar the other night he would come to see me. I guessed that one wrong. Maybe it’s for the best, Sebastian may be a centuries old mage, but at least he is human.

I took off work on Halloween to spend time with Sebastian. This could be our last day together. I was really shocked when Josh showed up just before dusk.

Sebastian got a kick out of the kids all dressed up. I got a bit nervous as dusk fell, hoping that Mat wouldn't show up while the kids are out. When all the candy is gone we turn off the porch-light. I decide to pop some popcorn and we would watch a movie and wait for the inevitable. I take the popcorn and go back to the living room trying to figure out where to sit. My decision was a bit easier since both men were sitting on the sofa, so I just scooted in between them. Josh seemed to be acting a bit strangely. I guess Halloween must have broken the spell he was under.

“Well, well, well. What a lovely family we have here.” Mat appears in a poof of bright light in front of us. Dramatic much? I scream and throw the popcorn bowl off my lap secretly hoping this is the least of the mess I’ll have to clean up tonight.

Both men stand up simultaneously. Mat looks them both over oddly and lets out a chuckle.

“Sebastian is  the this best you can do? Do you really think I would fall for the simplest trick in the book?” He looks at Josh as he speaks.

“I don’t have a clue to what you refer to.” Sebastian looks at him and chuckles.

Something about his expression seems off. That wicked grin he flashes so freely seems a bit off. Maybe he is a little more afraid than he is letting on.

“Take me and let’s get this over.” Sebastian stands avoiding my stare.

My mouth about hit the floor.

“Sebastian! You can’t just give in. I thought you had a plan? What about us?” Like a rejected school girl I run to him wrapping my arms around him.

“Fallon, the plan wouldn't work without you getting hurt. It’s easier this way trust me. You and Josh can work through this.” His words sounded stilted, rehearsed.

I look over at Josh standing there quietly. His face was blank except for what seems like a slight smirk. I glance at Mat, who had picked up one of the popcorn bowls and sat in a chair watching with a big amused smile.

I turn to him glaring.

“No! You can’t take him!” I wrap myself around Sebastian as if my 5 foot, one-hundred thirty pounds would be an obstacle for such a huge man, well Demon.

“Ok I’ll just take this one.” Mat chuckles and moves over to Josh. Josh looks angrily at Mat.

“You can’t just take someone without a deal like that can you? Josh say no!” Panic feels me. How can I protect them both?

“No Fallon, don’t worry I can’t take a person without a deal. This is Sebastian; he is using glamour to appear to be Josh. I warned you to not trust him.”

I look closely at Sebastian. His eyes seem less fiery, the gold less bright the grin seems off. I move over and inspect Josh closely. Tall, handsome, muscular. Definitely Josh. I can’t help but wonder though why Josh would stand there and let me hug and feel all over Sebastian and not start smashing things. Josh is definitely Mr. modern caveman. I chalk it up to another spell to keep him docile.

“You are the one trying to deceive me, make me not trust Sebastian. He warned me you would try this.”

“Of course he did. All a part of his plan. Seduce you, get you to believe him even assist him to convince me to take the wrong one, buying just enough time for him to disappear.” My heart feels like it’s on the verge of shattering like warm glass sat on a cold surface.

“I have to give it to you Sebastian, the transferring some of my magic into her was a surprise. Quite a pleasant one. What a wonderful gift. I should give you a few years to thank you for that, but I’m not a generous man.”

Crack the shattering of my heart begins slowly and painfully.

I decide to test Sebastian’s love and pull out plan B.

“I want to make a deal. Take me instead. I’m sure I could be more fun than Sebastian. You could leave me here couldn’t you? We could make some sort of arrangement, a time frame, but I get to keep my soul like Sebastian. If he has already started storing some of your magic in me, I must be of some use even though I am not a witch.” I use the painful bit of info that was just dumped on me to my advantage.”

All three men stare at me dumbfounded.

“This isn't a game show Fallon.” Mat looks at me angrily.

I figured he would be pleased. I guess he isn't as interested in me as I thought. I’m glad all I did was dance with him the other night.

“I know, but I don't want to be without Sebastian.” I look at Josh.

“I am so sorry Josh, but I think I am in love with Sebastian.” Even though he just broke my heart, part of me wants to give him the benefit of a doubt. He did warn me to not forget his words no matter what I heard. I’m hoping this could be part of a plan and he isn’t going to just run off.

“Not as much as you think, if you can’t tell the man in your arms isn't the one you claim to love. He has used you to build trust. I still am unsure why he would think that I wouldn't be able to feel my powers through such a simple shield. Kiss him goodbye Love.” He shoves Sebastian toward me. I grab him and press my lips to his, my tongue searching his mouth feeling every warm inch. I run my tongue over his teeth and it hits me like a brick I shove him back, slapping him.

“Why?” He looks surprised.

“Open your mouth and smile I order.” He complies then quickly realizing a problem closes it and frowns, but it’s too late. I didn’t see the gap.  I look at the other and sure enough a slight gap.

“Everything Mat said is true. You would send an innocent man to hell to escape? Was it all lies? Are you planning to run off after tonight? Switch back NOW!”

There was a flash and Josh let out a long groan and dropped to the floor. Mat just stands there looking stunning and amused.

Sebastian pulls me close, his lips by my ears he whispers. “I told you no matter what to trust me. You’re blowing this. Shut the hell up and let me handle this.”

“I asked you was it all lies? Did what we do together these last few days mean nothing at all?”

“Yes, I love you. I meant it all.” He turns to Mat.

“Are you happy? You got what you wanted. The girl offered to make a deal for me so hear her out.”

I about fainted. He loves me but is willing to let me sell my soul for him, practically giving me to the Demon?

He pulls me close holding me so tight I can barely breathe. For once in the time we met I didn't feel that passionate heat. I felt fear.

“I think that deal is off the table. Am I correct Fallon?” I nod, tears already streaming down my face.

“Release her Sebastian.”

“No. You release me from my deal or I will kill her.”

What little was left of my heart crashed into a million tiny pieces.

Mat chuckled; there was a flash and boom. I wake up in Mats arms.

“What happened?”

“It’s over for now”

“Did you kill him?”

“No”

“Why”

“I still have use for him. He isn’t free yet.”

“You let him run off with your secrets?”

“Yes, He will return. You now have the keys to the magic of mine he was holding.”

“How?” Not sure I really want to know

“When you had relations. You are like an open vessel, it must be somewhere in your bloodline. ”

“That’s why he was afraid of me when we first met, and called me a witch?’

Mat nods

“You knew too?”

“I could tell you were different, that there is something in your bloodline. I’m not sure though its witch.”

“Are you saying you think I have demon blood?”

“It is a possibility; something draws me to you that no other human has ever done”.

“I can’t believe you. You and Sebastian are both the same. Now I have lost the only one that truly loved me. I wish none of this ever happened.”

I reach out to hit him; instead he pulls me into a passionate kiss.

“Goodbye Fallon, I am sorry that you are unhappy.”

“Will I ever see you again” My voice merely a dry whisper.

“Do you want to?”

“Yes” I shock myself with the word.

“Why? You know what I am and that I am not capable of love only lust.”

“I know you aren't a man. It’s just... You know... Not natural.”

“I am very much a man.

“But aren't you a beast or something? This is just something for me to see right?”

“No this is me. But yes, I can take on any other forms I choose by magic.”

“This is your true form?”
“It’s the one I am in the most yes”

“See you talk circles. You won’t tell me the truth, just what you think I want to hear.”

“I must go dawn is approaching.

“When will I see you?” Hot tars fill my eyes.

“Soon, I’ll give you time to let this all sink in work things out.”

“Will Sebastian come back for me?”

“I am sure he will.”

“Will you stop him?”

“If you need help I’ll be here.”

“How will you know?”

“I can feel you; remember you have some of me now.”

“You’re not taking it back?” I reach back and feel the tattoos on my neck and the new ones that have appeared on my shoulders.

“Not yet. It’s safe where it is.” He winks and smiles.

“Besides gives me a reason to return whenever I choose.”  He flashes a sexy promising smile and he vanishes.

Dark Magick Episode 4

Welcome Back!!  I hope your enjoying Dark Magick ! Did I surprise ya last week? Well wait till ya read this one..With out further ado I will get with it !

Dark Magick Episode Three
Spellbound

I glance around and notice that the crowd has considerably thinned out. One drink and one dance led to enough that I lost count. I haven't enjoyed being with a man in such a long time. The conversation was intriguing. Mat seems truly interested in what I have to say and he also has a great sense of humor.  He can also dance better than anyone I have ever met. But then again he isn’t an average man. When did I start calling him Mat? Thinking of him as a man? Heck he isn’t even really a man is he? He’s a freakin' Demon and I just ignored my boyfriend an entire night to be with him and Enjoyed every single minute!

As much as I have enjoyed this evening, I have business to attend and you should return to your boyfriend.” Am I imagining that his voice sounded wistful?

Holding my breath as he steps behind me pulling back my seat, I stand, half afraid he will kiss me and half hoping he does.

“Yeah, I guess you are going to inflict some sort of punishment on Sebastian. Please don’t break anything in my house.” I can tell by the distance and his stance he isn’t going to kiss me. Why do I feel so disappointed?

“My dear, I have plenty other work to attend to that has absolutely nothing to do with Sebastian. I haven't had an evening that I entertained myself in a very long time. It was a pleasure, but now I must go.”

He quickly bends and plants a quick kiss on my forehead.

“I will be seeing you very soon, my love.” Without a sound or movement or anything he just vanishes. It was as if hadn’t been there at all.

I return to the table nervous, not sure how to explain my long absence to Josh. He still was nursing a beer, his eyes still glued to the TV.

“That must be one heck of a good game.” I lean over and kiss Josh on the cheek.

“Oh babe! I am so sorry. I don’t know what came over me. You’re not mad are you?” He seems to just snap out of some sort of trance.

“No actually I ran into an old friend. I was afraid you'd miss me and be upset.”

“You know I trust you. I don't have anything to worry about do I?” Smiling jokingly as he pulls me close and kisses me. Does he?

I can’t help but feel guilty. I never once thought of Josh after Mat and I started talking and dancing.

“Wanna come to my apartment? I feel weird making love to you with a total stranger in your house.”

He feels weird? What about how I feel? Will I be able to make love to Josh, knowing Sebastian can hear us? Can I sleep with Josh and not think about Mat?

********

All my feelings of guilt quickly disappear when we come in and find Sebastian sprawled out on the couch in nothing but a pair of  boxer briefs. Obviously trying to provoke at least one of us.  I couldn't help but admire his assets.

“I figured you must have decided to go back to his place tonight so I got comfortable. Sorry.” He looks up innocently, lays the Witchcraft book on the table and stands stretching. He grins wickedly at both of our reactions.

“You have no business running around in FALLON’S house in just your underwear. That’s disrespectful.” Josh fumes, clenching his fists. I grab his hand.

“She doesn’t seem to mind, or she would have told me I shouldn't run about in my skivvies. Besides SHE is the one that bought me these.” That sexy wicked grin that seems to set me on fire spreads across his face.

Josh turns his angry glare my direction. I wish I really was a witch like Sebastian keeps calling me so I could vanish like Mat had.
"You bought those?"
Yeah remember he came here as a cat in nothing but fur. would you rather he run about nude?" The vision makes me smile. Perhaps I shouldn't have bought him clothes. He seems comfortable a enough in his own skin.

“Come on.” He grabs my hand and practically drags me to my bedroom. Once we get inside he undresses us both and pushes me forcefully onto the bed. He didn’t make love to me like he had mentioned earlier. He went at me like a caveman, grunting and groaning. After he finishes he pulls me close and holds me tight as if I might sneak out while he sleeps.

A bright band of sunlight in my eyes awakens me and I realize Josh isn’t in bed. I don’t hear screaming or anything smashing. I smell bacon cooking, so I put on a pair of workout pants and t shirt and enter the room, secretly praying I don’t trip over Josh’s dead-body.

Instead I am pleasantly surprised to find both men at the kitchen table. Sebastian has the Witchcraft book out again and Josh seems very interested in whatever it is Sebastian is saying to him.

Sebastian hops up and pours me a cup of coffee.

“Here ya go Ma’lady. Sorry I don’t know yet how you take your brew.” He gives me a slight bow. I playfully pop him on the shoulder not even correcting him this time. His nickname is sort of growing on me.

Josh’s phone rings.

“Babe I hate to do this, but I need to go home and get ready for work. Sally called in sick again. I think she is using her pregnancy to the hilt. I may have to pull doubles most of the week.” He rolls his eyes, finishes his coffee and sets his cup in the sink.
He gives  Sebastian a hard look. Sebastian smiles at him and the look fades. I'm not sure I like these two casting spells on Josh like this, but it is  keeping the situation calm. I wonder which man, or should I say demon or mage, fixed it so Josh will be out all week? I look at the clock and see it’s almost eleven am. Wow did I really sleep this late?

“That must be one interesting book. You haven’t put it down much since you first got here. Finding anything?”

Sebastian closes the book and looks up at me.

“Have you not read it?”

I shake my head still standing near the door. Sebastian actually had on the t-shirt with the frog on it again with the jeans I bought.

“I got you some men’s shirts.”

“I know, I am kind of fond of this one. I hope you don't mind I am still wearing it.”

I shake my head.

“Why do you own the book if you’ve never read it?” He stands and stretches, his gorgeous golden eyes gleaming.

“I actually inherited it from my Grandmother. It belonged to some distant relative down the line and she said it’s imperative it stays in our family. Besides, it’s very lovely and looks good on the coffee table.

He takes a few steps towards me and I back up. The wall blocks me from going much farther.

“Shall we get busy trying to find a way to get you free from Mat and back to wherever it is you want to go?”

He leans forward placing both hands on the wall above me.

“Mat?  Ah, Matanbachus. I was wondering why I wasn’t blessed with a visit from my dear friend last night. I see he wasted no time to use his charms to try to convince you that I am evil and a threat?”

My breathing speeds up, and my heart starts to race. I should feel more afraid than excited, but the closeness of Sebastian, the smell of the citrus and herbs of the aftershave he has on combined with the lust in his eyes, sends waves of lust through me. I find myself once again wanting a stranger to pull me into his arms and have his way with me. What has come over me? Is it a spell of some kind?

He places one finger gently over my lips.
"I assure you I am not the threat. He is. I am only staying here in this house to keep you safe from him. I could have left the first night, but i was the one that involved you so now i must protect you."
Can he be telling the truth? Which one is the real threat? Heavens! Why am I so attracted to both?

Sh. It doesn’t matter anymore. I know how to regain my freedom and save you at the same time.” He leans down his face so close to me I can smell the bacon and tea on his breath.

“We better get busy then.” My voice cracks and is barely more than a whisper.

That sexy, evil, bad-boy, grin spreads across his face as he closes in melting every inch of me. He kisses me hungrily. I part my lips and he takes the invitation quickly, his tongue searching. Exploring. I find myself falling into his arms as he picks me up still kissing and takes me to my bed. I don’t protest as he undresses me slowly exploring and kissing as he removes all my clothes. I can’t take my eyes off him as he removes his clothes. I gasp as he falls back on me our bodies hot and ready for each other.

“Hold on a second. I need to get something.”

"What could you possibly need at a time like this?" His golden eyes glow with desire and need.

“Protection silly”, I slap him on the butt.

He looks at me confused.

“Don't tell me you didn’t have some sort of protection in whatever time it is you are from.”

“Of course we did. But, it generally isn’t necessary between mates, but if it makes you more comfortable, then go ahead.”

Mates? I start to speak but he quickly stops me with a very deep, passionate kiss, making me forget everything but the issue at hand. I get out the condom roll it on him exploring him as I go, eliciting a stream of curses and words in a language I’ve never heard. He grabs me, pushes me down onto the bed, ravishing me, kissing me, exploring me. He enters me and I lose control. It feels as if sparks fly through me. Ha and mom says there is no such thing as fireworks.

We both are soon screaming out in unison. My entire body shakes and feels as if I'm on fire. The intense heat is almost unbearable.

“I told you it’s been a long time. Now that the deed is done, we can just enjoy ourselves until Matanbuchas returns this evening. He is going to be one very unhappy Demon. Sleep Ma’lady.

Without a word I drift off into a deep sleep.

Noitisnart ni Niahmas

Boo!  Just checking to see if you're awake.  Welcome to my Halloween story!  As always, this is a first draft, and as such, some things may be just a touch wonky.  But, it's going to be good wonky, trust me.  Oh, and always, Copyright 2012, by Raymond Frazee.  Enjoy.

Noitisnart ni Niahmas

Part Four

The gusting wind made Laurie look up from his dinner and glance out the patio door. It was barely cracked, allowing the house one last chance for a bit of airing out, before the weather turned completely bad.

It was completely dark now, and Laurie knew the full moon was up. He knew this because he’d been following the rising and setting of the moon since—well, since just after Halloween. He’d always been interested in the sky before then, but after what took place a couple of weeks back, he’d begun paying special attention to the stars, the planets, and the moon.

He wasn’t certain why, but he felt it was important.

Laurie remembered everything about that Halloween. The change and the flight to Wales; sending Tegwin the Dragon off to bed. The landing, the greeting from the other women who accepted her as their own. Celeste coming up and giving her a hug, asking her how she managed to get the big lizard off to beddy-bye, and the amazed look that crossed her face when Laurie said she didn’t know.

The women standing about the fire; then, about 1 AM, all of them disrobing to dance about “skyclad”. Laurie undressed along with Celeste, and she remembered how, even in her nakedness, she never felt strange because she was a woman, or ashamed because she was under to stars, in the coolness of the Welsh evening, moving about in a dance with dozens of witches, gathered to celebrate one of their holiest nights.

Then, later, after they were finished with the dance, an people stood and spoke, Celeste took her by the hand, and together they slowly walked between the two bonfires . . .

After that things grew hazy. It seemed like they regained their clothing some time later, and then they flew somewhere—back through another window, back to the U.S., back to the house. Then touching down in the backyard, going inside, and . . .

Laurie woke up the next morning, in bed, back in his own body. Celeste and Witchbaby were gone—and he could find no evidence of her going. Even the pumpkin she said she’d left outside for the trick or treaters was sitting on the dining room table, empty, but there.

He’d called her several times since Halloween. The phone rang, but there was never any answer. It wouldn’t even go to voice mail. Laurie had once let the phone ring for five minutes, and no one picked up, no automated voice told him to leave a message.

It was as if Celeste had dropped off the face of the world.

Laurie put it out of his mind. It was difficult, because Halloween had meant so much for him, had brought about a change . . . Yeah, no kidding. How changed can one get?

He signed once more, then returned to picking at the meat pie he’d cooked a few hours before. Boring Sunday afternoon; looking to be a boring evening. Off to sleep later, then up in the morning and away to another boring day at work—

There was a scratching at the patio door. Laurie looked up, saw no one there. He was about to do more food picking when he heard it again. Only it wasn’t a scratching—it was pawing.

He got up and headed towards the door. With the light on in the dining room, it was difficult to see anything beyond the slightly open door, but Laurie saw no one there. He was about to turn away when he saw a flash of something—not at eye level, but lower, near the floor.

It was a cat.

Rain was starting to fall as Laurie opened the screen door. “Hey, what you doing?” he said to the cat, who sat there looking up, its mouth half open in a silent meow. “Well, come on in.” He waved his hand, and the cat stood and trotted inside.

Laurie picked the cat up, clutching it close to his chest. It was a Siamese, though if the size, and the extent of the markings were any indication, he was willing to bet the cat was only about a year old. He gently rubbed the cat’s head, and was rewarded with a loud purr. “Aren’t you the happy kitty!” he said. He checked around the neck: no collar. “What are you doing out?” he asked. Not that he expected an answer, but the cat looked up into his face and meowed softly.

He lowered the cat to the floor and let it slip from his grasp. “I’ll get you some water,” he said, then proceeded to fill a small bowl from the jug he kept in the refrigerator. The moment he set down the bowl, the cat was there, lapping away. He scratched the cat between the shoulder blades, looking for an RF chip. Nothing.

“I can’t imagine someone letting you out,” he said. “I guess when the weather is better you can head home—or maybe in the morning.” The cat stopped drinking and turned. It looked up, then meowed once again, then returned to drinking.

He watched the cat for a few seconds, then walked into the living room and sat. The television was already on, turned to one of the Showtime channels, meaning he had no idea what was on. That was how he normally did his weekend: put on some background noise and do what is needed to get through the day. Then—

Laurie couldn’t remember what he’d done today.

The weekends had become that way. Hell, the weekdays were like that as well. Ever since Halloween, life seemed way too . . . boring. He hated that. He hated that after the wonder he’d experience a couple of weeks before, he was stuck being—

Normal.

The wand Celeste had given him—no, not him, her . . . The wand was sitting on the coffee table. He leaned over and picked it up, then stared at it in his left hand for almost a minute. Did I really use this? he thought. Was I actually flying a broom? And where is it if I did? Did I chase away a dragon? He flicked the wand tip at the lamp across the room, half smiling. If there is magic, why can’t I find it again?

He shook his head. Laurie had begun to believe that everything that had happened with Halloween and Celeste had all been due to drugs. There was no other answer. And yet there was something he remembered . . .

It was after they walked between the bonfires. Naked, they hugged each other, then Celeste brushed the hair back from her face. “You’re changed,” she’d said. “Walking between the bonfires is a symbol of being reborn, of being purged of all that had come before. You aren’t the person you were before tonight. You’re someone who we’ve never seen before—the real Laurie.” She slowly caressed her cheek. “You have magic in you; you know how to call it forth. You need only reach inside and make it real. You are ready. You only need—”

That was it, though. Laurie couldn’t remember what Celeste had said after that. He knew it was important, but he was damned by what she’d said—if she’d said anything at all. “It had to be drugs.”

Just then the cat jumped into his lap. He laughed, because he’d never heard the cat approach. That’s how cats are, though. You never hear them coming. The cat curled up in his lap and began to purr. Without thinking, he began rubbing a spot between the cat’s ears. The purring became louder as the feline became more content.

Smiling, Laurie said, “You like that, don’t you?” The cat’s head turned, and it meowed in as if responding. “Yes, you like being petted that way.” The Siamese meowed again, a touch louder this time. Laurie knew this about Siamese; they loved to meow, they loved to communicate with people. “Ah, you’re so pretty . . .” This time the cat reached out with a paw and kneed his leg, meowing twice before looking straight ahead as it relaxed.

“You are the talkative one, aren’t you?” Laurie ran his hand over the cat’s back. “You Siamese; you guys make so much noise. It’s like you have a—”

It came to him in that moment—what Celeste had said to him that night. It rang in his mind—

You only need find your voice.”

Laurie knew how he’d made Tegwin leave. Nothing he said in English mattered, because Tegwin was a Welsh dragon, and English words had no power over her. But he’d not spoken English when he ordered off to bed—

“It was Irish Gaelic.” He remembered telling Celeste when he’d—when she’d landed. “I spoke Gaelic!” she said so proudly. “I have no idea how, but I did.” He still didn’t know, but it didn’t matter now. Laurie knew that whatever magic she possessed, it had an outlet.

He only need know what voice to use.

“That’s why it never worked when I tried speaking backwards!” He thought that maybe he could have spoke backwards, but the idea was taking hold that he could speak words backwards as perfectly as possible, but unless he said it in the proper voice, it wouldn’t matter jack-all.

As much as he hated to do so, he picked the cat up and laid it—he gave the animal a quick check: her—aside. He stood, then pointed the wand at the table lamp across the room. Taking a deep breath, he cleared his mind. Just let it come, he thought. Let it all come out; if it’s there, I’ll say the words.
“Levitate,” he said in a quiet voice.

Nothing happened.

Laurie knew that was the word. He knew that they were literally the same word, said the same way, even if one was Irish Gaelic. What’s wrong? Why didn’t it move? Maybe there’s more . . .

Still pointing the wand, he said clearly, “Levitate as an tábla.”

Nothing happened.

Okay, that was more of a statement, he thought, but I’m still shooting blanks. I told it to levitate off the table, and it’s still there. What the hell is wrong?

The moment of silence past quickly, because Laurie knew it wasn’t something that was wrong—rather, it was something different:

Him. He was different.

When Tegwin flew off to sleep, he’d been she. It wasn’t the Laurie who stood here now who told her to get her ass to bed—it had been Laurie the beautiful, red-haired witch. The witch of Celeste’s dreams. And the walk between the bonfires . . . You’re changed. Walking between the bonfires is a symbol of being reborn, of being purged of all that had come before. You aren’t the person you were before tonight. You’re someone who we’ve never seen before—the real Laurie.

The real Laurie was a woman, and lovely, and a witch who could work magic.

Just as Celeste had said.

“Oh, boy.” Laurie was in a bind. He had no way to contact Celeste. He had no way to tell her he was ready, that he wanted to do magic . . . That he wanted to be the “Real Laurie.”

He wanted to do this, and . . .

He wanted to be with Celeste. He knew this, too. He wanted to be that dream witch, because he now remembered what had happened during those spacey moments while they were in Wales, and what they did once they returned here.

Laurie knew it all. He knew what they’d each said to the other. And what awaited him if he decided to choose this new path.

“How the hell am I going to do this?” he asked. Turning to the cat, he said, “I’m not sure I know what to do.”

The cat stared back, and the look upon its face was a combination of serendipity and attentiveness. If Laurie didn’t know better, he could swear she was telling him, “Yes, you do. You know what to do.”

Laurie did know. It’s all inside, just as Celeste said. It’s not just magic: the real Laurie is there, too. She’s inside. I just have to pull her out . . .

He wasn’t certain he could make this work, but there was only one way of seeing. He held the wand over his head, touching the tip to his hair. “Bí ar an Laurie fíor,” he said softly.

As had happened when Celeste ordered the transformation, everything happened instantly. One moment he was standing in the living room in his pajamas, and the next—Poof! Laurie was still in pajamas, but they now hung loosely on this body—

Her body.

She dropped her wand to her side, reaching for her hair with her free hand. “It worked!” she yelled. Turning to the cat, she smiled and said, “Look at that, will ya? I turned myself back into my witchy self.” The cat stood and stretched, then jumped down onto the floor. She came over and wrapped herself around Laurie’s ankles.

“Oh, yeah. You do like me, don’t you?” Laurie suspected that the cat hadn’t just shown up on her back patio this evening. She suspected that perhaps, just perhaps . . . Celeste was watching, and had Witchbaby make some calls.

It’s the full moon, and if there were ever going to be magical power around, it’s now. Laurie figured now was a good time to see if her theory were true. She pointed the wand at the lamp. “Levitate as an tábla.” The lamp rose from the table, hovering maybe a foot above the surface. She moved the wand to the right, and the lamp followed. “Fill ar ais ar an tábla,” she ordered, and the lamp set back where it had been about twenty seconds earlier.

“Well, kitty,” Laurie said, “it looks like I’m back in business.” She looked about, then down at her clothes. “I know what I want to do, but first . . .” She figured that if she wanted to alter what she had on, she wouldn’t need her want. “Cuir ar outfit taisteal,” she said, and her pajamas transformed into black boots, thermal tights, a black dress and matching gloves. She touched the pointy hat now set upon her head. Just what the well-dressed witch needs for traveling, she thought.

“Come on, kitty!” Laurie marched to the patio door, then headed outside, closing it only after the cat had joined her. The wind was blowing about five miles per hour, and there was a light drizzle, but Laurie felt little discomfort. This isn’t that good, and yet . . . It’s witch’s weather. It doesn’t feel all that bad.

“It’s time to do some flying . . .” She pointed the wand at the air before her. “Tabhair mo giolcach!” A second later the broom she’d flown on Halloween appeared, hovering before her. Laurie slid the wand up the sleeve of her right arm, then laid her left hand upon the broom. “I feel like I’m back with an old friend.”

She mounted the broom, settling herself onto it comfortably. Laurie looked down at the cat, who was looking back up at her. “I can’t keep calling you kitty, so . . .” She thought a few seconds. “It’s a full moon, and you’re a Siamese, which is Asian, so . . . how about Chinese goddess of the moon?” She patted the handle. “Come on, Chang’e. You wanna join me, or not?”

Chang’e hopped up on the broom. Just as Witchbaby had done, she walked to the end of the handle, then laid down, appearing comfortable and unperturbed. “Yeah, you know exactly what you’re doing, don’t you?” The response was a single, low meow.

Laurie began to rise above the back yard. She didn’t need to think about what she wanted to do; she knew. She wanted to find Celeste, tell her what she’d done, what she was doing . . . what she’d thought about not just in the last couple of minutes, but what had been on her mind for weeks, ever since their flight to Wales. Laurie knew the path she wanted to walk, the places she wanted to go.

She knew that wherever that path led, she wanted her dream witch at her side.

She didn’t know where Celeste was right now—not exactly. She now had this feeling that wherever Celeste was, it was night;, but it wasn’t windy, and it wasn’t as cold, and it wasn’t drizzling.

Laurie knew where to find her.

She pushed forward, and the broom rocketed into the sky. For the first time in weeks she felt alive—hell, she knew she hadn’t felt like this in years. A while back she’d imagined her life reaching a dead end and being over. But that wasn’t the case, not right now. Not as she rode a broom into the sky, now almost five hundred feet over her town, and continuing to climb.

No, she’s walked between the bonfires—or was lead, as she was beginning to suspect. She must have known I liked her, she thought, reaching a thousand feet, and continuing to climb. Celeste had to know. But being who she is, knowing what she’d love, and maybe knowing that, like this, I’d also be a witch . . . Laurie nodded at Chang’e. “She wanted a witch who’d love her. And she knew . . . She knew I’d love her back.” The cat looked back, her eyes twinkling, and gave Laurie a very quick meow.

Laurie laughed, then looked at the clouds closing in around her. “I need to get to Celeste,” she mumbled. She’s not here, but I know where she’s at. I know where she’s waiting for me . . . For she did understand why Celeste hadn’t been around, why she had disappeared after Halloween, and why she was so far away right now. She’s been waiting for me to figure this out, to decide upon the life I wanted. And she’s been waiting for me—waiting to teach me magic.

She pointed her wand at the clouds before her. “Tabhair dom ar aghaidh go dtí an Bhreatain Bheag!” she shouted. Within seconds the same effect she’d seen Celeste produce on Halloween appeared fifty feet before her.

As she flew into the portal that would take Chang’e and her to the site of the coven party near Rhandirmwyn, Wales, she knew it might be months, if not years before she saw her home again. It would be fine; that she understood. But it would be a long time before she set foot in it again.

Not that it mattered. The home represented a life that no longer existed, and on the other side of this gateway—that was the life she’d chosen.

That was the life she wanted.

That would be her life as a witch.

The dream witch—

Of her loved one.

She flew into the gateway, smiling, knowing what she’d find on the other side.

The End

And like it says, that is the end.  Hope you enjoyed the story.  Next week, I will have a final comment before jumping onto The Crazy Train.

Dark Magick---- Week 3

Hi everyone! Welcome Back! Are you enjoying Fallons adventures so far? I wont keep  you waitign anymore  Here's this weeks episode of
Dark magick

Hell breaks Loose… again

“You invite a stranger into your house and let him spend the night.” I held the phone away from my ear and Josh’s voice was still felt as if it would shatter my eardrum.

Actually two. My stomach tightens at the thought of telling him the next part.

“I didn’t actually invite him. I brought in a cat, the cat turned into a man.”(I left out the naked and well hung part)

“You should have made him leave.” Finally h stopped shouting so loud.

“He refuses, says the demon can’t touch him here.”

“Demon?”

“Yeah. Yesterday evening another man showed up to claim him. I thought they were lovers but they aren’t. He’s a Demon that has a claim to him.”

“You believed this garbage? Fallon, what’s come over you?”

How do I explain the proof over the phone? I tell him the entire story of course leaving off my thoughts and attraction to them both. Do I blurt out your girlfriend is lusting after, not only a mage, but a real honest to goodness Demon? I think not.

“You should’ve called the cops, or at least me. Fallon, shit! I can’t believe how dumb you can be at times!”

“Gee thanks Josh for the vote of confidence.”

“What the hell do you expect me to say? You tell me you have a strange man in your house and he spends the night. You rarely let me spend the night and we been together for three years.”

“We didn’t sleep together! Gosh after three years you could trust me!” Why should he when don’t trust myself?

“I never said I didn’t trust you! Dammit! I’m worried about you! He could kill you, rape you or worse!”

“I’m alive and he didn’t touch me.” I wanted him to though, really badly. The Demon even more.

“So is he gone now?”

Telling him the truth is gonna really be bad, but if I lie and he comes over and finds out I lied it will be worse so I decide to tell the truth. Honesty is supposedly the best policy.

“No. He is still here.”

“Both of them?” Josh sounds incredulous.

“No, just Sebastian. The Demon can’t come back until dusk.”

I can envision him sitting there shaking his head then dropping it, cradling it between his hands. I know him that well.

“He has to leave, Fallon.”

“I don’t know how to make him. I told him, but he says he is going nowhere until he figures out how to get the demon off his back.”

“CALL THE FRIGGIN COPS!” I have to pull the phone away again.

“He says he will spell them or kill them if I do.”

“Fine! I’ll take care of it myself!”

Bzzz bzzz bzzz. Dialtone! Crap he hung up and is probably on his way. Now what do I do. Will Sebastian kill him?

%%%%%%%%

I go into the living room where I find Sebastian already up, sprawled out on the sofa in nothing but the boxer briefs I bought him, reading the witchcraft book I clonked him with the other night.

I need my camera; I could get rich with a photo like this on the Internet.

Looking up at me, he lays the book on the coffee table. He smiles coyly, his golden eyes gleaming. His bad-boy good-looks heating me throughout. My panties dampen. This is not going to be any better a day than the last two.

You look troubled Ma’lady”

“How many times do I have to tell you to call me Fallon! Oh never mind! It doesn’t matter what you call me. You have to leave. Now!”

“I can’t do that. Not until we find a way to free me from Matanbuchas. I am safe here. At least until all Hallows Eve.”

“How can we free you, like in the next two minutes? Why before Halloween?”

“Since I have no idea how to free myself as of yet, I’ll answer the other part. On All Hallows Eve the demons roam free to make deals, bargains, and call in markers. That is, they can claim souls they have deeds too. Why do I only have two minutes?”

BANG! BANG! BANG! The door practically vibrated for the furious knocking.

“You don’t. He’s here and he is madder than Hell! Get to your room! Don’t come out until I say so, no matter what you hear!”

He stands up quickly. My eyes trail his nearly naked body.

“And put on some clothes!”

“Fallon! Open the Damn door right this instant or I’ll kick it in!”

“Someone is angry. I should stay here. He sounds like he means to do harm.”

“Yeah but it’s not me he wants to harm, so get the heck to your room and get dressed fast!”

I can’t help but admire his tight backside and be taken aback by the protective tone in his voice as he strides down the hall.

Josh pushes past me as I open the door, nearly knocking me over. I grab him by the arm and pull him in pressing my lips to his. I kiss him hungrily, hoping make him forget why he came. Or at least distract him long enough for Sebastian to get dressed. He gives in as my tongue presses for invitation.

“Eh he hum.” Sebastian clears his throat.

Perfect! I told him to not come out until I called for him.

Josh makes a move towards Sebastian and all of a sudden stops abruptly, as if frozen in his tracks.

I glare at Sebastian. His face remains calm, self-assured, confident. Even though Josh is taller by several inches, and quite a bit broader. He doesn’t seem intimidated at all by Josh’s size or the burning anger in his steel blue eyes.

Josh stands there fuming. He pulls me closer, positioning me slightly behind him, taking a protective stance, even though it seemed he was unable to move forward.

“You need to get the Hell out of this house before I pitch you out on your bony ass!”

Josh’s deep voice seemed to echo through the room causing me to flinch. I guess the pissing contest begins.

“I’m sorry, but I cannot do that, and you cannot remove me.”

“We will see about that!” Josh lunges forward, striking out at Sebastian. He stops cold.

“What the hell! Why can’t I move?”

“Sebastian! Release him! There will be no spells in this house!”

“Behemoth, you can’t move because I have put restraints on you. Ma’lady I won’t harm him, though I don’t believe he means no harm. It’s best he remains restrained until we can all three come to terms. I take it this giant means something to you.”

“Quit calling him names. Yes. Josh is my friend.”

“When did I become just a friend? You told me he invited himself here against your wishes, and you had no desire for him to stay!” Josh turns to me and glares.

“She actually brought me here. Though she didn’t know I was actually a man. As to her desires, that’s entirely her business.” He glances at me seductively and winks.

I can feel the heat rising to my cheeks. Josh gives me a very angry look.

“Let’s just sit down and discuss this like adults ok?

Sebastian sits in the nearest chair still close to the hallway leading to his room. Smart man.

I take Josh’s hand and lead him towards the couch. Surprised that he could walk, though he still seems to be somewhat restrained in movements. If he moves in Sebastian’s direction he just freezes. We sit on the couch and he pulls me close wrapping his arm tightly, possessively over my shoulder. It seems like it took all afternoon to come to the agreement that Sebastian would stay, in the guest room. It still was unsettled if I would stay, (which I was insisting) with Josh also staying (which I was trying to figure a way to prohibit) or go to Josh’s to stay until Sebastian found his escape or Halloween whichever came first. I finally persuaded Josh to take me out to dinner and a much needed drink, though Sebastian refused to leave the sanctuary of my house. I really don’t want Josh to be here when the Demon shows up after dark. I doubt that meeting will go anywhere near as well as this one had.

I shower and dress quickly. I know Josh is under some sort of a spell where he can’t physically harm Sebastian, but I don’t feel comfortable leaving the two alone.

It was really cool when I came out and both men looked me over appreciatively and whistled simultaneously. It really felt good, since I know I am no beauty. Right at that moment I felt like a goddess, seeing the desire in both men’s eyes. Josh pulls me in for a hungry kiss. As Josh’s lips trail down my cheek to my throat as if claiming me in front of Sebastian, I turn my head slightly looking at Sebastian. His tongue flicks over his upper lip, his golden eyes gleam with burning need. His erection pressing tightly in the black jeans I bought him.

I clear my throat and gently push Josh off me. He smiles possessively as his eyes land on the huge bulge showing in Sebastian’s jeans, he quickly grabs me and leads me to the door.

“Don’t wait up. I hope you have earplugs just in case she insists we come back here. She’s quite the screamer.”

I guess he made his intentions clear. Talk about cavemen!

%%%%%%%

Things seem to go better at dinner. I try to keep Josh’s mind occupied with any topic as far from Mages, magic, demons, black cats, and strange men in my apartment, as much as possible. By the time we had a second drink and finished our appetizer, the evening seemed to fall into its normal pattern. We moved into the bar after finishing our meal, Josh opting for a large community table near the TV’s as usual. I sat watching people dance and have a great time, wondering why tonight I felt so bored and disinterested in Josh. This is our normal Saturday night date. I have never seemed to mind before. We would have a nice dinner, maybe a movie or something, and then stop in here for drinks. Or Josh would come and watch the game and I would be a good girlfriend watching Josh and occasionally dancing with one of his friends, the gay regulars, or the wives of his friends.   Tonight my mind seemed to be at home with a very sexy mysterious man, and worse than that, an even more intriguing Demon.

Josh seems even more glued to the tv than usual. Practiaclly spellbound. I excuse myself to go the  ladies room and see if I recognize anyone Josh would allow me to dance with when I spot him at a table off to the side but close to the dance floor.

He raises his glass as if in a toast, smiling widely his teeth almost too white to be real. My shoulder hits the wall bringing me back to my senses. Even as dark as his eyes are the lights seem to reflect the mischievous glint in them. I seem to melt all over as he winks and gestures to me to join him. I look over and see josh still glued to the TV. It doesn’t seem he has even noticed that I am gone.  I shake my head an hurriedly dodge into the bathroom door as two giggly college aged girls come out. Good maybe he will turn his attention to them now and leave me be.

Shutting the door behind me I slump against the wall. What on earth is he doing here? Why isn’t he at my house tormenting Sebastian? Has he already killed him and here to finish off me, the only witness? My heart pounds faster.

I finish my business, check myself in the mirror, reapply a bit of lip gloss and step out the door, my mind set I won’t even glance near the dance floor, just go straight to Josh and convince him to go home.

“We need to talk.”

Large strong hands cover my outh as I let out a muffled shriek.

“Shh. I mean you no harm, but we have business to discuss. Then after that perhaps we can shake up this rather bring dancehall.” He flashes another of those sexy suggestive looks, his large body hiding me as he presses me against the wall.

“Don’t yell out, I’ve cast a spell. No one will hear you.” He seems to follow the movement of my eyes as I look towards where Josh still sits watching a ballgame.

“No need to worry about him. He won’t miss you. He thinks you are still there beside him. Everything will be just as it was when you return to his side.” He removes his hand from my mouth, but doesn’t move away from me yet.

“Good, so come join me at my table. I’ll buy you a drink or two, then after we decide what to do with the mage we can dance and enjoy ourselves.”  He moves his handsome face so close I can smell his breath. The hint of whiskey and cinnamon making me long for a taste. Is this a spell he is weaving over me? Surely I can’t be lusting this much over a Demon. Though he does look like a man. A very handsome, sexy man.

I follow him back to the table and accept the  Jack and coke he ordered me. Can he read my mind?

“If you can read my mind, why the game?” I blurt out.

“Read your mind? Dear, I have no desire to be able to read the thoughts of humans. Though I guess it does seem that way. I am just very observant. In less than an hour, I surmised that you are very unhappy with your current boyfriend, and you like Jack and coke, since you have ordered two in the past hour.”

“I am very happy with  Josh.”

“You can’t lie to a demon, so save your breath. Your sex life or lack of it is no concern of mine. I have more important issues to deal with. I must return the thief back to where he belongs before he hurts someone. That someone being you.”

“Funny, he seems to think he needs to protect me from you. So one of you are lying to me.”

“Obviously you think since I am a Demon you think its me. Trust me; the mage you harbor is much more dangerous and devious than any Demon you will ever encounter. ”

I can’t help but chuckle.

“So a mere mortal is more dangerous than a demon? I must seem awfully gullible if you think id even half believe that.” I take a quick drink.

“What makes you think he is mortal? He escaped from a place a close to hell as you can get without being there, he is centuries old, and has more magic in him than any mage and most demons, yet you think he is mortal?”

“I guess you have a good point there. So what is it you want of me?” I blush at the way his eyes trail over me.

He quickly stands pulling me with him.

“A dance.” He leans in close, his voice thick and sexy as he whispers it into my ear.

“I thought you said we have business to discuss?”

“We do, but I have a good ten days, Why waste such a lovely evening. Let’s enjoy ourselves tonight. We can discuss business tomorrow.” He led me to the dance floor like a lamb to slaughter.

“About that, You can’t come to my house. Josh is mad enough about Sebastian being there. I could never explain you.”

“Let me handle that. He won’t be there. I’ll take care of it and don’t worry your pretty head about your human boyfriend. He won’t come to harm by my hand.” He pulls me close his body guiding mine to the music. I find myself sinking into his warmth and wanting the moment to never end. Well actually I’d like the moment to become hours with more contact and less clothes.   What on earth is wrong with me wanting a Demon?
